    The Role

    Reporting to the Senior Product Development Engineer, the Assistant Engineer will be responsible for assisting the engineering team with the development of new and existing electrical products; co-ordination of product performance / safety testing; and supporting the minimum requirements for product certifications, regulations and legislations.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Maintaining product rating labels and instruction manual templates for safe use and to assist with product development
    • Drafting product rating labels and instruction manuals
    • Co-ordinating product performance and safety testing projects
    • Reviewing performance and safety test reports issued from testing projects
    • Reviewing new product for requirements to its product Standards
    • Maintaining in-house testing facilities and conducting testing to verify product performance and safety
    • Prepare and review Responsible supplier, EESS registration for product safety and EMC
    • Prepare and review Product performance registrations for products that are required to be registered (MEPS)

    About You

    To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

    • Minimum Diploma of Engineering (Electrical field) or Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical field)
    • High level competency in Microsoft Office programs, in particular Word, Excel and Powerpoint
    • Knowledge of Electrical equipment product standards and electrical wiring codes advantageous
    • Experience with electrical testing advantageous
    • Experience in coordinating projects preferred
    • Strong focus on continuous improvement
    • Effective problem solving skills
    • A customer centric focus
