The SmartSat team is looking for a motivated software engineer to help further modernize the software infrastructure deployed to spacecraft flight computers. The candidate will be experienced in embedded software development in C and/or C++ with a thorough understanding of principles of object-oriented design and development and with knowledge of embedded software. The role will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle from requirements development through integrated test on flight-like hardware.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in Embedded Systems
- Experience with C++, C, and Python programming languages
- Previous Agile experience
- Understanding of Object Oriented Design
- Experience with Git and Jira
- Full software development lifecycle experience
- Team-oriented attitude and work style

Desired skills

- Previous experience with testbeds and simulation software
- Previous experience with DevOps
- Previous experience writing and designing to software requirements
- Ability to perform software integration and test development activities
- Ability to work within multiple programming languages, operating systems, and development environments
- Previous experience with Cloud Computing
- Experience with PaaS design, build, and deployment

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
