The Accountant - Projects is a resource for business events or projects where support is required in identifying accounting and taxation issues and in developing and operating data collection and reporting frameworks and controls, and a resource for projects for the review or development of accounting support systems.

Payrate: Dependent on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday 38 hours per week
Start date: ASAP
End date: 12 months
Location: Fremantle

As a Finance resource for significant company business events, including business process implementations and major construction projects:

  • ­ Works with the project/event team to identify financial management and reporting requirements
  • ­ Ensures that adequate financial processes and controls are in place to support the project/event
  • ­ Develops and implements financial models to facilitate financial recording and reporting
  • ­ Ensures that the integrity of these models is maintained
  • ­ Identifies relevant accounting and taxation issues
  • ­ Provides recommendations on appropriate coding structures for recording of capital and operating expenditure
  • ­ Provides recommendations on appropriate financial indicators to monitor project/event performance
  • ­ Assists with coordinating and preparing the corporate operating budget as a support and backup to Accountant-Operating Budgets, including operation, development and maintenance of budgeting systems
  • ­ Facilitates the implementation of the Company's' Strategic Asset Management (SAM) program

Technical, Professional And Specialist Skills
  • ­ Well-developed knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Practices and Concepts and their application
  • ­ Extensive experience in process development and documentation, and in implementation of financial processes and controls
  • ­An aptitude for systems with extensive experience at an advanced level in the use of computerised financial management information systems, complex financial modelling techniques, and report writing tools
  • ­ Well-developed ability and experience in planning, organising and achieving work priorities
  • ­ High level interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • ­ Well-developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • ­ Proven ability and experience in working in a team environment

Qualifications And Experience
  • Possession of a Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • Eligibility for membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or the Australian Society of CPA­
  • Extensive accounting experience in a commercial environment
