Teacher, $72,137 - $107,049 per annum (SEA GA 2019)

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2021

Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School (CHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated Science Teacher to join their school community.

The successful applicant will be conversant with the WA curriculum from Years 7 to 10 in each of these learning areas and will demonstrate sound professional knowledge, effective instructional practices and the ability to engage and motivate students to achieve successful outcomes. The successful applicant will have well developed skills to differentiate the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students.

Kalgoorlie-Boulder CHS caters to students from a diverse range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Kalgoorlie Boulder is a major regional centre that provides comprehensive facilities, services, and infrastructure making it a comfortable location in which to live and work. The city is proud of its history and heritage which caters to a significant number of tourists.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances, where this position becomes subsequently vacant, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
