Our client is a multi-national oil and gas company, involved in a range of activities such as exploring natural gas and crude oil, refining, transporting and retail nationwide. They are now seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to join their team for an initial 8 month contract.

Our client is a multi-national oil and gas company, involved in a range of activities such as exploring natural gas and crude oil, refining, transporting and retail nationwide. They are now seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to join their team for an initial 8 month contract.

The Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating, managing and monitoring the credit risk exposure for the relevant country/business to support delivery of business goals through optimisation of the balance between credit risk and reward. The Credit Analyst support the SPU credit risk management process to ensure coverage and compliance of the Credit risk management framework in order to protect assets. This role supports the Credit Manager in driving continuous improvement in credit simplification to deliver a standardised and effective process for conducting diligent investigations to identify, manage and monitor credit risk using evaluative tools and business judgement.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide recommendations, risk assessments on new applications & scheduled reviews through the analysis of financial information and related credit agency supplied information, eg. Cash flow statements, profit & loss balance sheet
  • Assess and approve new applications and scheduled reviews within delegated authority and escalate appropriately where outside of delegation of authority.
  • Responsible for the assessment and ongoing management of larger complex customers.
  • Ensure a high level of customer responsiveness to all internal and external customers is maintained by adhering to all service level agreements and key performance targets
  • Ensure that timely and accurate reports are maintained in relation to the management of credit.
  • Act as a centre of expertise in relation to the management and mitigation of high risk accounts and account assessment
  • In conjunction with the Credit Manager & Credit Evaluation Team Leader, attend regular credit review meetings for specific business channels and provide input/feedback on credit risk issues.
  • Compliance with Group Credit Standard.
  • Recommend and facilitate, for the ongoing administration of the Relationship Team, appropriate payment plans for customers, including monitoring & reporting on progress
  • Mentor Senior Credit Analysts, Credit Analysts and Contracts Officer.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on credit process and policy.
  • Ensure accurate and high level of customer data integrity
  • Maintain customer files
Experience (technical and professional)
  • Demonstrable experience in credit assessment and security management in a credit related field, including debt management required
  • A working knowledge of appropriate credit legislation including working knowledge of Liquidation's, Administrations, Deeds of Company Arrangements etc.
  • High level of understanding of the court process in terms of debt recovery
  • Ability to read and interpret key financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss account and cash flow statements)
  • Financial analysis and risk assessment skills
  • Exposure to large end customers in a credit risk environment
