Our client has asked DFP Recruitment to source a suitably qualified and experienced Technical Tester for a 4-6 month assignment with the possibility of extension, for a Late May start based in the Perth CBD.

The client is currently digitalising their divisions and conducting business process re-engineering. This requires enhancements to their legacy systems. Current manual processes are being automated. Business data and documents will be stored electronically. This is a transformation project.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Conduct all forms of testing including Integration, Regression, UAT, Performance, Load/Stress, Security etc, of Legacy systems & services, according to the testing strategy and plans
  • Draft test-cases & assists in defining acceptance-criteria
  • Generate test scripts based on Business requirements Document (BRD) and Procedure Document (PD).
  • Create Traceability matrix from BRD, PD and Test cases.
  • Create and execute both manual and automated test cases and record their outcomes
  • Raise defects, assists in their prioritisation and track them through to resolution
  • Assist business users in conducting User Acceptance Tests
  • Create and maintain test-data & test-environments
  • Collaborate across developers, business-analysts, business users, UI designers, Ops engineers etc
The necessary experience required for this role is:
  • 4 years’ experience in software testing
  • Experience in Government departmental work is advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of various testing processes – Integration, Regression, UAT etc
  • Interest & willingness to perform both manual & automated testing
  • Ability to write basic SQL queries against a database
  • Proficient in creating test-artefacts including test-plans, acceptance-criteria, test-cases, test-data, automation-scripts etc
  • Familiarity with testing tools
