About the ERA

The ERA is Western Australia's independent economic regulator. We aim to ensure that the delivery of water, electricity, gas and rail services is in the long-term interests of Western Australians.

About the Role

We are looking to establish a pool of Principal Analysts, Level 7 for the Regulation and Inquires division. Appointments will be made as and when opportunities arise in the next 12 months.

The Principal Analyst provides specialist expertise to manage, undertake, review and evaluate complex economic and financial market research and analysis. This position manages and conducts complex reviews of policy matters. You will also provide specialist expertise to interrogate regulatory and financial information/models and contribute to the provision of written briefing and discussion papers.

You will also provide analytical support to the Principal Regulatory Advisor to develop and review the ERA's approach to calculating appropriate rates of return for water, energy and rail infrastructure.

You will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and skills in the development of rates of return/weighted average cost of capital, and the management of complex quantitative analysis using an extensive range of analytical tools.
