Pacific People Solutions are pleased to be working with the team at Alpha HPA, an ASX listed company, to source a number of Laboratory Technicians as they prepare to ramp up production of their demonstration plant located 10km south of Brisbane CBD.

This will also offer an opportunity to those successful candidates to transition to a role in Gladstone where their full-scale commercial plant will be constructed & commissioned.

Alpha HPA First Project is the application of the company’s licensed Smart SX technology to produce a range of high purity aluminium products, most notably their Ultra High Purity Alumina, Ultra High Purity Precursors and Ultra Boehmite. This exciting start-up has Major Project Permitting Approval and is anticipated to commence construction of their $300M plant in Gladstone in the second half of 2021.

This full-time opportunity will allow you to be directly involved with a highly innovative business during its demonstration and commercialisation phase.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are willing to roll up their sleeves in order to get things done whilst being engaged with a dynamic team of engineers and scientists.

If you are interested in being part of a low environmental impact sustainable business, one which is committed to supporting decarbonisation technologies using their innovative refining process, this is a great career opportunity for you!

To be considered for this opportunity you must be committed to upholding Alpha HPA’s safety, environmental & equal opportunity values and be available to work potentially on a rotating 24/7 roster for up to 2 weeks each month.

In addition, you will also require:

  • Qualifications in Laboratory Technology or a degree in Science/Chemistry (essential)
  • At least 10 years working history with 2+ years in a relevant role (preferably from a food, pharmaceutical or mining environment)
  • Forklift ticket (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting results & results-based decision making
  • Experience in small scale plant operations (desired but not essential)
  • Familiar with laboratory equipment, glassware and auto titration instruments
  • Ability to focus on the purity of the product with a true commitment to continuous improvement & quality.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a high level of computer literacy
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with a proactive, self-motivated attitude
  • Willingness to be hands on & capable of keeping the plant running by performing small mechanical works as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 20-25kg
  • Willingness to work regular rostered rotating 12-hour shifts

This exceptional opportunity will suit an adaptable team player who will enjoy being part of a ‘first on ground’ team.
