The opportunity

NSW Trains is embarking on a once-in-a-generation modernisation of our regional fleet, and we are looking for a Workforce Planner on a contract basis (for up to 12 months) to help us prepare our people for the trains of the future. This is an opportunity for you to showcase your forecasting and modelling skills and do your part for the people of NSW.

You will help senior business leaders to make the right decisions and ready the business to implement new ways of working. You will bring with you new ideas, a willingness to learn and a curious mind that never stops asking questions.

This role involves, but not limited to:
  • Work proactively with key stakeholders to create and implement a sustainable end-to-end workforce plan that supports the introduction of the New Regional Rail Fleet.
  • Develop and deliver scenario planning to identify risks, issues, and opportunities to maximise resource utilisation, focusing on commercial, customer and safety outcomes.
  • Monitor, review and implement capacity plans supporting assurance in future capacity to meet demand requirements with a regional and customer focus.
  • Resolve complex workforce planning issues by identifying and articulating the links between NSW TrainLink business units, other key stakeholders and whole of government agenda to support a regional and commercial deployment model.
About You
  • You are collaborative and a strategic thinker with a thirst for learning something new.
  • You have experience creating workforce models and capacity plans.
  • You relish solving problems and evaluating options for the best business outcome.
  • Stakeholder engagement is part of everything you do.
