Our large NSW State Government client drives integration and efficiency across long term planning, precincts, housing, property, infrastructure, open space, environment, natural resources including land, water, mining, energy and growing our industries.

About the Role
They are currently seeking a highly experienced and professional Project Manager to join their growing team in Lidcombe. This is an estimated 2month temporary assignment.

Working within the Biodiversity and Conservation Division, you will be required to develop and support the implementation of projects covering diverse and strategic environmental policy initiatives across NSW.

In this rewarding role, you will be undertaking the following duties –

  • Lead and manage the delivery of projects and programs including multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Predict resources required to reach objectives whilst managing resources in an effective manner
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Track and monitor project costs in order to meet budget
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Provide expertise and guidance, contribute to the preparation of responses to complex and controversial sensitive issues, recommending appropriate solutions
  • Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, facilitating collaboration, engagement, partnerships and contribution of ideas
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders on progress
  • Manage contracts with vendors/suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Utilise industry best practice and standards throughout the entire project execution
  • Monitor progress, making adjustments as required
  • Measure project performance, identifying issues and trends, whilst implementing risk mitigation strategies and areas of continuous improvement
  • Make recommendations on politically socially and economically sensitive matters

About You
To be successful in this great assignment you will have the following –

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Project Management, Computer Science, Business or an equivalent field
  • 5-8 years project management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Solid analytical, conflict resolution and problem solving skills
  • Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
