JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to support the development and implementation of comprehensive business plans and analytics related to the execution of the Company’s Flexible Business Model (FBM) initiatives - which include wholesale and all commercial business strategic models outside of third party licensing.

This position will work across Disney, Marvel, Lucas, Nat Geo and Fox franchises, various categories (hardlines, softlines, consumables, publishing, digital), and regional teams.


Responsibilities:
  • Support of the strategic development and the go-to-market plans / business execution of all flexible models in ANZ (e.g. wholesale, direct-to-retail, shop-in-shop)
  • Manage implementation of all new business model initiatives with key stakeholders (e.g. Integrated Retail, Product Development, Sourcing, Licensing, Creative, Finance, etc.)
  • Assist with evaluating short and long term business growth opportunities
  • Partner with key executives to research, model, and evaluate a variety of strategic projects and initiatives
  • Track and report new business initiatives across ANZ
  • Support the development and reporting of KPIs across various business initiatives
  • Drive efficiency through process improvements, including update, revision and creation of new business models and templates
  • Work closely with the commercial team to find new ways to distribute and manufacture products in ANZ
  • Partner with marketing teams to create consumer marketing, content and retail programs to support new and exisiting initiatives
  • Support P&L for new initiatives from inception through launch
  • Account Management for existing Wholesale and other FBM accounts
Develop and execute a multi-year business development roadmap focusing in three areas;
  1. Wholesale Projects
  • Manage existing Wholesale accounts by driving end-to-end detailed execution plans, documenting process flow lines and other requirements
  • Support in developing business and assortment strategies for assigned accounts
  • Actively work to apply financial insights, consumer insights, and product trend information
  • Present quarterly product assortment to account buyers in collaboration with wholesale and commercial teams
  • Manage marketing needs for assigned account and collaborates with Retail Brand Development for internal approvals
  • Work closely with integrated retail teams and cross functional partners including The Disney Store (TDS) Teams, Licensing Teams, PD Teams and RBD.
  1. Strategic Projects
  • Role divided between commercial management of licensed stores and business development for both local and regional projects
  • Manage licensed stores including: category analytics, regular reporting of data and insights, franchise updates and presentations, joint business planning and marketing localisation
  • Responsibility for tracking the forecasting and reporting of managed licensee against budget and prior year, including entering data
  • Oversee and ensure timely approvals of licensee’s submissions
  • Support the FBM Senior Manager across the broader strategic projects business including partner development, ideation and new business.
  1. Product and Category Development Incubator
  • Support with onboarding of new partners and projects. i.e contract, system set up and internal approvals
  • Research and understand competitive landscape. Analyze and understand market trends, consumer and retailer and industry needs
  • Partner with product development to innovate & bring to market compelling new product categories
  • Support the FBM Senior Manager on transitioning new projects and products to commercial team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in business development, retail operations or commercial strategy
  • Experienced at developing global and local product requirements
  • Have knowledge of, and experience with, business processes, finance and legal matters
  • 3-5 years experience in consumer products strategy, management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or private equity
  • Bachelor Degree in Business/Commerce.
