Hays are proud to partner with the Tasmanian Public Finance Corporation (TASCORP) with the recruitment of a highly capable Settlements Officer to join their team on an 18-month fixed term contract. TASCORP is the Central Financing Authority for the State of Tasmania. Based in the Hobart CBD, the Corporation borrows funds in domestic and global markets and provides a range of financial services to the State and Government owned entities, including local governments.

Your new role
Due to staff movements an exciting opportunity for a capable Settlements Officer to join the team on an 18-month fixed term contract based in the Hobart CBD. Reporting directly into the Senior Manager Operations, this role will be responsible for the daily download and distribution of transactional data, settlement of all financial markets transactions, maintenance of database and physical data, including (Interest rate, and FX data). You’ll also be required to provide other assistance to the Senior Manager Operations as required.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate you’ll be self-motivated, have proven experience in a settlements officer role, or similar transactional banking role and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You’ll possess excellent communications skills (Written and Verbal) enjoy working independently and be highly analytical with High level of attention to and concern for, detail and accuracy. Gained by relevant industry experience, you’ll also possess;

  • Experience working to tight deadlines
  • Persistence in pursing issues to a mutually satisfactory conclusion
  • Previous experience in a settlement’s role or similar
  • Working knowledge of financial markets instruments
  • Possess excellent Microsoft office skills

As the successful candidate, you’ll also be prepared to undergo a national police check prior to commencement in the position.
