Our client is a growing IT Managed Service Provider who partners with key information technology vendors and key telco groups providing a "one-stop solution" for their quality customer base. Continued growth has created an opportunity for you to join them as a customer-facing Technical Project Engineer.
The Opportunity:
Due to continued growth, an opportunity now exists where they are currently looking for an experienced Technical Project Engineer to join their team. The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining customer infrastructure and software systems, including hosted and cloud environments, as well as providing technical assistance to team members with system and network requests.

This role will suit your passion for being a go-to problem solver, getting out of the office and helping customers in the field, face to face, solving their IT and telco needs across hardware, software, and communications. You will have an opportunity to leverage your in-depth knowledge and experience whilst helping support the team around you. 

This is a team-focused role that will leverage your self-motivation and technical / IT problem-solving skills, working across a complete project lifecycle. Of course, you'll be a lifelong learner who may have a "lab" set up at home where you enjoy learning, testing and trying out new things. 

Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Design and implementation at the network level
  • Design, implement and support hosted and cloud solutions for customers using technologies that meet their requirements
  • Design, implement and support disaster recovery solutions 
  • IT support relating to issues with the client systems and network infrastructure
  • Design, implementation, and support services for Microsoft related technologies
  • Support services for virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft
  • Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
  • Maintain direct and open interaction with line managers
  • Document maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructure
  • Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals 
  • Projects delivered on time and on budget
  • Project processes maintained and followed
  • High level of client satisfaction/ positive customer feedback
  • Effective management of project workload to ensure a high level of productivity
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities 
  • Work through project tickets and phases in ConnectWise as assigned by a Project Manager 
  • Enter all work as service or project tickets into ConnectWise 
  • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry
  • Engineer and implement system solutions for customers using technologies that meet their needs
  • System documentation and consulting services to include system reviews and recommendations 
  • Communication with customers as required
  • Working with the SDM to deliver the required results

This role will provide guidance and support in ensuring you are successful in your role, in conjunction with ensuring the department’s strategy is carried out. Service Delivery Teams Assist the Service Delivery team in fully understanding your clients’ needs and requirements, ensuring that any work undertaken by the Service Delivery team is done so with as much knowledge on the client as possible.

Skills and Experience Required Skills and Experience: 

  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience managing projects within IT services 
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong customer focus and documentation
  • Strong computer skills encompassing project management tools and Microsoft suite
  • Experience implementing and managing project processes
  • Knowledge and experience in IT service delivery
  • Managed Services experience
  • Good crisis management skills to handle pressure from project challenges
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) between internal and external stakeholders 
  • Organisational skills ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget as well as ensuring client expectations are met
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Stakeholder management 
  • Be able to work in a team
  • A strong knowledge of hardware, systems, and software to be able to
