The Opportunity

TAFE NSW is looking for qualified, experienced individuals who wish to be considered for Part Time Casual Teaching opportunities in Travel, Tourism and Events in the Western Sydney Region. Locations include: Campbelltown, Bankstown, Blacktown and Blue Mountains campuses.

The role of the TAFE teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

 
About you:

You will love this position if you like to share your passion in the Travel, Tourism and Events industry and have a minimum of two (2) years industry experience. You are ready to educate a team of passionate students from a range of backgrounds to achieve their personal and work goals whilst developing and implementing an educational and career plan. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Requirements;

  • Minimum Certificate III in Events and/or Certificate III in Tourism and/or Certificate III in Travel or equivalent
  • Candidates applying to teach Diploma level courses in Event Management and Travel & Tourism Management must hold, as a minimum, a Diploma of Event Management and/or Certificate IV in Travel & Tourism and/or Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management
  • Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Certificate IV TAE40116.
  • Be prepared to continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.
  • High level written and oral communication skills in English and Proven ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of educational, industrial or community environments.
  • Commitment and ability to facilitate learning in an adult environment and demonstrated organisational skills applicable to an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service and demonstrated ability to contribute in a team environment.
  •  Proven strengths in problem solving and change management
