Our client is in the business of making dreams come true for Aussie kids! They design, build and supply, a wide range of sustainably and tastefully designed play products and outdoor play spaces.

With significant growth in their business, they are now looking for an experienced and suitably qualified Operations Manager to lead their team and manage the Melbourne operation. The position is based in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs, and the ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate hands-on experience in leading a team of up to 10 people, in a similar role within a timber products manufacturing/workshop environment, along with some knowledge and understanding of eCommerce, product lifecycle, supply chain.

Key responsibilities will include:
Managing all aspects of business operations from scheduling raw materials, manufacturing, quality control, maintenance, safety, logistics, all the way to customer order fulfillment
Leadership and people management, including recruitment, rostering, retention, and performance management
Ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to, particularly WHS and Quality Standards across the site
Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement and efficiency improvements
Developing a culture of quality and continuous improvement focussed on delivering exceptional customer outcomes

To be successful in this role you will be expected to demonstrate:

Hands-on experience in a similar capacity within a small/medium manufacturing business
Good computer skills with Google Suite or MS Office suite (particularly MS Excel) and an ability to quickly learn new systems
Full Drivers license and a reliable mode of transport
Exposure to timber products manufacturing, carpentry, and/or construction will be beneficial
Formal trade or university qualifications will be looked upon favourably
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
