Implementation Officer x2 - Fixed term/Full time until 15 January 2022
The School Improvement Hub in Performance Division, Schools and Regional Services, ensures the implementation of improvement efforts in schools and regions and informs the design of strategy. It drives the delivery of the Literacy and Numeracy Strategy and a focused agenda for school improvement through the improvement processes and programs of Performance Division and regions, and other systems implementation levers.
Two exciting opportunities exists in the School Improvement Hub for an Implementation Officer, reporting to the Manager of the Literacy and Numeracy Implementation Unit and the Manager of School Review Unit. The role supports the development and implementation of procedures that guide and track work related to the implementation of school reform initiatives with a focus on initiatives that lift literacy and numeracy outcomes. The Implementation Officer will work collaboratively with key regional and departmental staff to support a coherent approach to improve educational outcomes.

Key accountabilities of the role include:
  • ensuring project objectives are efficiently met by anticipating and managing potential and emerging issues
  • establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with regional and departmental staff
  • developing and communicating creative ideas while projecting how these can link across various literacy and numeracy initiatives
  • undertake analysis of qualitative and quantitative data under guidance to generate insights about improvement, and identify potential implications from these insights
  • using an understanding of organizational roles and responsibilities to support implementation across multiple DET initiatives.
Within this context, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • knowledge of policy and/or implementation planning
  • strong writing skills
  • relationship building skills
  • research and data analysis skills
Project management, evaluation, contract management and procurement skills are highly desirable.
