Full Job Description
$71,990 - $83,406 pa (plus super)

Temporary Full Time (maternity leave replacement, 38 hours per week until May 2022)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Youth and Family Services team as a Youth Development Officer.

In this position you will be proactive in engaging with young people and key community stakeholders to identify, develop and deliver initiatives that encourage young people’s active participation in civic life and promote their health and wellbeing.

You will be tertiary qualified in community development, youth, social work, or its equivalent and have demonstrated experience and understanding of working with young people and community stakeholders.

Key skills include:
Sound understanding of youth issues, including disengaged and vulnerable young people and multicultural communities
Sound understanding of youth participation and community development principles
Demonstrated experience in facilitation, project and program development and implementation: and event development and delivery.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.

The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
