  • $87,640 - $99,438 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term - until December 2022

The position of Project Officer forms a part of the Policy and Regulation Reform Branch in the Jobs, Innovation and Business Engagement Group. Our groups key objectives are to help Victorian businesses grow, create more job opportunities, develop key industries and be innovation leaders. The group works to build trust-based relationships with Victorian businesses, from global enterprises to small businesses and start-ups, to achieve job outcomes that strengthen our economy. Our branch leads policy and regulatory reform projects and supports JIBE branches to deliver policy priorities. The branch also works across DJPR and government on cross-cutting policy issues including economic policy, skills, environment policy and regulation reform.
As a Project Officer in the Policy and Regulation Reform Branch you will provide policy and regulatory advice that helps to create a better Victoria and stronger environment for business to grow, invest and create jobs.
Reporting to the Manager, Regulation Reform key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Undertake research and analysis to inform senior decision makers and Portfolio Ministers that will enhance outcomes for business and the economy.
  • Provide support on policy or regulation reform projects that will improve the environment for business growth, investment and job creation and support reform processes.
  • Prepare accurate, concise, timely and relevant reports, briefings, correspondence, possible parliamentary questions and other documents as required by the Department's Executive and Minister, within specified timeframes.
  • Pro-actively build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders both within the public and private sectors on issues impacting on the economic development of Victoria.
  • Prepare project management documentation to assist in the delivery of key projects, within specified timeframes. Assist in the preparation of procurement documentation.
