The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is seeking an experienced Multi-Vehicle Driver to join the Operations team at Castlemaine. You would be a Driver in our Waste collection services and reporting to the Site Supervisor.

This is a casual position and would be suitable for someone who is happy with early starts as a shift usually begins 5.30 - 7am. This is usually a Monday to Friday role but when required you may have to work weekends / overtime.

As a Driver with Veolia you will be driving and operating a variety of collection vehicles; Rearlift, Sidelift, Bulk, Frontlift. You will be responsible for servicing our customer requirements.

You’ll need:
Safety first mindset
HR License minimum. (HC Licence Desirable)
Minimum 2 years experience driving a HR vehicle.
Previously worked within the waste industry (or similar)
Good verbal communication skills
Experience working autonomously
Adaptable and hands on
Ability to work independently and within a team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with a small team, as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

While ‘Operations’ is about process and rhythm, you’ll find plenty of variety in your role. In addition to driving you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

In this role, you’ll be trained across a number of concrete skills for the job in hand. Many of our Drivers have continued to progress their career with us, moving into supervisor and leadership roles.
