Position Summary:
  • The Victorian Government introduced a mandatory quarantine (detention) approach from 27 March 2020, consistent with the Commonwealth Government, which required that all people arriving from overseas into Victoria on or after midnight on 28 March 2020, would be detained in hotel quarantine for a period of 14 days. Subsequent directions were issued on 13 April 2020 and 11 May 2020.
  • The role of the Covid-19 Determinations unit is to process applications from international arrivals seeking exemption from mandatory 14-day hotel quarantine.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages a portfolio of applications from receipt of submission to completion.
  • Requires skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a busy and high volume work environment and remains calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Problem solves by liaising with a range of stakeholders
  • Is familiar with using software systems to manage work flow.
  • Works in a team environment, collaborating and sharing information.
  • Requires excellent time management skills to prioritise workflow.
