The Group

The Corporate Services Group actively supports Ministers and DJPR portfolio groups to create the conditions for sustainable economic development and employment growth. The Corporate Strategy Branch’s objective is to continuously uplift the efficiency and effectiveness of the Corporate Services Group (CSG) and the department. The branch does this by performing two broad functions:

driving a program of strategic projects aimed at enhancing the performance of CSG and the department
providing and enabling high-quality reporting and business planning to facilitate effective oversight and informed decision-making across the Department.

As the successful applicant you will:
Be employed by AFL SportsReady, as part of our Warumilang program in a full-time, 12 month Traineeship
Study for an accredited qualification: Certificate III Business
Earn an income while you’re learning
Be supported by our dedicated AFL SportsReady staff members including: Field Officers, Mentors, and Educators.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Corporate Strategy Business Administration Trainee some of your daily duties and responsibilities may include:

Assist with the coordination and administration of the annual report.
Support the administration of projects across the team (e.g. proof read content for the annual report, undertake data entry, assist with process improvement, draft emails, conduct desktop research).
Provide general administrative and project support as required to support the delivery of Corporate Strategy projects and programs.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other areas of the department.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Well organized
Able to work as part of a team
Able to meet deadlines
Good communication skills
Aptitude for working with computers
Able to work accurately and neatly
Willingness to learn and ability receive feedback on work.
Current Police Check or ability to obtain
A permanent right to work in Australia
Aged 15 to 24 years at the commencement of the traineeship
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander - this position is exempt under the Special Measure Provision, Section 12 (1) of the Equal Opportunity Act 2011 (Vic)
Not an existing or retrenched “out-of-trade” apprentice or trainee

SALARY DETAILS

National Training Wage + 9.5% Superannuation
Fully Funded Qualification

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

People with tertiary qualifications need not apply.
Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
Due to restrictions relating to Covid 19, this role will initially be commencing in a Work From Home capacity.
