AFL SportsReady have an exciting entry level opportunity available now for someone looking to kick-start their career as a Business Administration Trainee with The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR).

Employment & Inclusion Group

The Employment and Inclusion Group is responsible for supporting people into employment and building a more economically and socially inclusive Victoria. The group provides advice, develops and delivers initiatives to address the employment and inclusion priorities of Ministers and government. We drive better employment and inclusion outcomes through:

Aboriginal economic development;
Social procurement and support for the social economy;
Place-based approaches that facilitate leadership, ownership and engagement by local communities;
Jobs Victoria’s employment support services, job creation initiatives, employer engagement, digital and phone services and data-driven platforms.
Strategic engagement and policy analysis to promote and facilitate an employment and economic inclusion policy lens across government, community and business; and
Enabling functions that support the work of the group including communications, data insights and operations.

As the successful applicant you will:
Be employed by AFL SportsReady, as part of our Warumilang program in a full-time, 12 month Traineeship
Study for an accredited qualification: Certificate III Business
Earn an income while you’re learning
Be supported by our dedicated AFL SportsReady staff members including: Field Officers, Mentors, and Educators.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Employment & Inclusion Business Administration Trainee some of your daily duties and responsibilities may include:

Organising meetings and other engagement activities with internal and external stakeholders. This includes contacting relevant staff, coordinating diaries, preparing background information and taking meeting notes.
Providing general administrative and project support across the broader branch including the processing and assessment of grant applications for the Jobs Victoria Fund.
Contributing to the analysis of information from stakeholder engagement to inform how can improve or adjust the delivery of initiatives across Jobs Victoria.
Developing and maintaining relationships and collaborate with relevant colleagues, and participate in relevant meetings, workshops and forums.
Other duties as required, in particular to support the delivery of stakeholder engagement for Jobs Victoria.

Good communication skills
Aptitude for working with computers
Able to work accurately and neatly
Willingness to learn and ability receive feedback on work.
Current Police Check or ability to obtain (AFL SportsReady will assist you in obtaining this)
A permanent right to work in Australia
Aged 15 to 24 years at the commencement of the traineeship
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander - this position is exempt under the Special Measure Provision, Section 12 (1) of the Equal Opportunity Act 2011 (Vic)
Not an existing or retrenched “out-of-trade” apprentice or trainee

SALARY DETAILS

National Training Wage + 9.5% Superannuation
Fully Funded Qualification

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

People with tertiary qualifications need not apply.
Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
Due to restrictions relating to Covid 19, this role will initially be commencing in a Work From Home capacity.
