Operating by night, we transport freight within Australia (B737 and A321) and internationally (B767) on time and ready for the day ahead.

We fly everything from freight, pets, unaccompanied baggage, special movements or charter. This means for us, every day is different. No matter what we’re carrying on board, we take the same care we would flying passengers, never forgetting our customers on the ground rely on us just the same.

An opportunity now exists with Express Freighters Australia for a suitably qualified and experienced person to fulfil the newly created role of Coordinator Operations Support located in Melbourne.

Reporting to the Manager Flying Operations & Technical Support, the Coordinator Operations Support is a cross-skilled role where the incumbent is required to be proficient in core functions within Flight Operations.

The role will involve providing practical operational support to both management and pilots, including administrative functions, pilot onboarding, managing pilot expenses and leave requests, and maintenance of employee information databases and reporting requirements.

The Coordinator Operations Support will use initiative to proactively identify ways to improve processes and better support management and pilots, and ensure that the Operations Support Procedures manual reflects the processes that are in place. This is a non-flying role.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
A minimum 5 years of experience in the aviation industry with a focus on flight operations
Highly proficient in administrative functions, including purchasing, pilot life-cycle processes, pilot leave requests, bid period preferences, expenses and EFB (iPad) monitoring and administration
A strong understanding of document control regulatory requirements
Highly proficient in proof-reading and editing
Advanced competency in maintaining database consistency and information integrity
Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements and standardisation of processes; including the development, documentation and maintenance of processes
Experience in project management
Liaising with stakeholders

Experience and Qualities Preferred:
Possess superior writing skills in grammatical English, technical expressions and terminology required for preparation of company documentation.
Sound analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Document management and electronic publishing experience.
Sound knowledge of Quality Control principles and requirements.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited direction or guidance
Able to plan and prioritise in a high-pressure environment
Can demonstrate resilience in the face of ambiguity (“staying the course”) while showing flexibility and an openness to change
Problem solve with an ability to cut through complexity and to think creatively at a tactical and strategic level with a keen attention to detail
