Located in Richmond, close to CBD and public transport

The Role
In this permanent full-time role, based in Richmond, you will be responsible for supporting the organisation databases and related technologies with an overall focus on the applications that use the databases. You will be part of the Application team within the IT Department and report to the Application Manager.

You will make an impact by:
  • Serving as an escalation point of contact for database support issues.
  • Ensuring that organisation databases are functional and running at optimal speed on premises as well as in cloud environments.
  • Handling complex database issues related to supporting a large number of widely differing application systems and large data sets.
  • Ensuring that information stored in databases are available when needed.
  • Maintaining effective security measures to safeguard the organisation data and databases.
  • Working with users across a broad range of areas within the hospital to understand IT issues and requirements.
  • Collaborating with Information Technology team members and vendors to deliver the right database solutions that support business objectives.
  • Ensuring database solutions align with overall technology strategies and governance frameworks.

You will have
  • Strong technical experience and knowledge in supporting critical business systems in large organisations
  • Strong background in implementing, supporting, and managing Microsoft SQL Database environments including SSIS/SSRS on premises and in cloud environments
  • Advanced MS SQL programming skills
  • Strong knowledge and skills in database clustering, AlwaysOn availability groups, replication, partitioning, performance optimisation, and SQL/T-SQL tunning.
  • Ability to implement, support, and maintain databases and applications in Windows Server environments
  • Advanced technical and problem solving skills with strong capabilities in resolving database and application issues
  • Good understanding of cloud concepts and technologies
  • Experience in project based work
