The Role

The role of the Senior Relationship Manager – Development Finance is to manage and grow a portfolio of business customers who specialise in the development of real estate. This role will provide a tailored service proposition for professional Developers operating in this industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex portfolio of development finance customers including the identification, management and escalation of risks.
  • Source new opportunities and prepare credit submissions that reflect our risk appetite, strategic customer segment and appropriate return for risk.
  • Monitor and analyse portfolio growth, sales, service and expense results for the portfolio and identify and implement corrective activity where performance gaps exist.
  • Lead, coach and provide development opportunities for team members to allow the achievement of current and future objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Business Banking staff and key business partners in implementing sales, service, operational, process, and credit quality initiatives, and in the identification of continuous improvement and adherence to processes and requirements.
  • Maximise the visibility of the Suncorp Group brand throughout the region by actively and positively promoting the company at public events. Network with key business customers in conjunction with the National Manager to optimise and maintain relationships and promote customer retention. 

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, economics, property economics or finance.
  • Minimum 10 years’ relationship management experience in roles requiring growth and retention of a customer base including at least 5 years managing a development finance portfolio.
  • Application of risk analysis, cash flow analysis, portfolio management, evaluation and analysis of profit projections, property valuation, credit mediation, security requirements and credit checking.
  • Implementation of business strategies to drive profitable growth, customer acquisition, customer experience and sales productivity.
  • Leading, coaching and training experience.
  • Ability to convey and explain information, coherently and confidently both oral and written.
