TAD changes the lives of people living with a disability through the provision of custom assistive solutions and Freedom Wheels bikes.

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our hardworking and supportive Freedom Wheels team. The successful applicant will receive on the job training, access to professional development opportunities and supervision.

Work with exciting and creative designers, engineers, therapists and clients to provide person centred solutions and help children and adults ride a bike for the very first time.

Responsibilities include:

Apply your clinical skills to complete Freedom Wheels bike assessments, giving both kids and adults the chance to ride a bike for the first time. Assessments are held in our Assistive Technology Centre (which includes a dedicated riding track) at Northmead and other regional locations around NSW.

Support our clients and volunteers, providing clinical guidance, as they develop individualised assistive technology solutions.

Work with our university partner to support a research project on the efficacy of our service and assist with the expansion of our Freedom Wheels therapy services.

Essential criteria

  • Professional qualification and registration as an occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
  • Be motivated, a quick learner and have excellent time management skills so you can succeed in a fast-paced and exciting environment.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo a working with children and criminal record check.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working in the disability or volunteer sector.
  • Experience prescribing assistive technology.
  • Project coordination experience.
  • Familiar with the NDIS
