JOB DESCRIPTION

BioScout is an AgTech startup that is on a mission to enable the early detection and effective management of airborne diseases on farms across the world.

We are automating crop disease detection and tracking through sophisticated and patent-protected sensor technology. Our sensors provide farmers with real-time, field-based airborne disease data. This data enables them to map, prevent and manage disease outbreaks on farms, improving crop yields and quality while reducing their environmental impact.

If this world-first technology that positively impacts food systems piques your interest, and you’re interested in building smart software and hardware for an industry sorely in need of them, then BioScout is the place for you!

Your Mission

BioScout currently has working prototypes across multiple Australian farming regions across three states and we’re now looking to expand our team with an embedded systems engineer who can take our technology to the next level. • Leading the transition to automatic device provisioning on our API as we scale from 10’s to 100’s of units.
  • Managing the continuous testing, integration and deployment of the firmware.
  • Generating roadmaps for future firmware releases and assisting with the research and implementation of potential new technology relevant to BioScout.
  • Liaising across business units including customer-facing roles to achieve great product outcomes.

There is also potential for this role to grow into managing and growing our embedded engineering team.
