JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting, ongoing VPS 6 role as the Health and Physical Education Curriculum Manager exists at the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA). The Health and Physical Education Curriculum Manager is part of a team of Curriculum Managers for different curriculum areas, who report to the Executive Director of Curriculum Division in the VCAA.

The role involves providing a range of educators in school and other settings with high-level and authoritative advice about curriculum and assessment issues for Health and Physical Education across the Victorian Curriculum from Foundation level to year 10 and for the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) Health and Physical Education studies. The role involves the exercise of professional leadership skills, provision of policy advice and contribution to thinking about strategic directions for curriculum in the humanities area, and the development, delivery, and evaluation of health and physical education professional learning to teachers across the three Victorian schooling sectors.

The role also involves significant and high stakes liaison with the VCAA VCE Examinations and VCE Curriculum Units, a range of assessment personnel and staff in the Victorian Curriculum F-10 Unit, and other VCAA business areas. The capacity to effectively engage with and work productively with stakeholders and manage projects is critical, as are strong conceptual and analytical, and writing skills. The Health and Physical Education Curriculum Manager is part of a team of Curriculum Managers for different curriculum areas, who report to the Executive Director of Curriculum Division in the VCAA.
