About ESTA

ESTA is the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies and it partners with the agencies to improve service delivery to the community. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for police, fire, ambulance and VICSES and manages the provision of advanced, operational communications for police, ambulance, fire services and the SES. Its vision is to be a high-performing team trusted by the community and our partners to deliver the right emergency response. Its central goal is to save lives and prevent harm through speed and accuracy in emergency operations.

About the role

The main purpose of the role is to plan, develop and facilitate the development of a resilient business environment and the associated operating model at ESTA. Working from the support office in Burwood East, the role will drive continuous improvement across disaster recovery systems and the crisis management framework. Working closely with stakeholders, the role will allow you to utilise your knowledge and experience in the complex organisations will keep ESTA's critical community service running.

Key accountabilities

  • Ensure that appropriate business continuity, redundancy and disaster recovery (DR) requirements are in place for our critical business functions
  • Manage the business continuity (BC) framework, systems and relevant processes
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure that BC/DR plans and actions are aligned and embedded within our strategy, business plans and consistent with our risk appetite
  • Identify critical third party suppliers and partake in the review of their BC plans for currency
  • Develop and leverage cross sector relationships to share learnings and drive continuous improvements
  • Manage the Post Incident Review Process and implementation of actions across ESTA
  • Develop and maintain the crisis management framework and lead the execution of crisis management plans and training
  • Work closely with ITS to ensure alignment between Critical Business functions, DR plans and training and testing regime

About you

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you will have:

  • proven experience in Business Continuity, Risk Management and Disaster recovery including emergency planning and crisis response management
  • a Qualification in Business Continuity or related discipline
  • demonstrated understanding of the Business Continuity Management Lifecycle, including Business Impact Analysis, processes and plan development
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and build cross-sector working relationships
  • Excellent report writing and presentations skills
