• Lead a small team of information management professionals About the VEC At the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) we are not just about elections, we are about enabling all Victorians to actively participate in their democracy. The VEC conducts State and local council elections and is responsible for promoting public awareness and understanding of electoral issues in the Victorian community. Our goal is to be change ready and responsive to legislative changes and community expectations in a dynamic and complex operating environment.

About the Role

The VEC has a comprehensive Information and Knowledge Management program, including an Information Management Framework, which ensures that the VEC's information management practices and VEC systems are compliant with relevant laws, government policy, standards and guidelines, and are effectively integrated with business processes.

The VEC has an opportunity for an experienced Information Manager to lead a small team responsible for the delivery of information and records management policies and processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and that all VEC staff are aware of their responsibilities. The team also supports the organisation in information management, records management, intranet and EDRMS adoption and use, and effective technical writing.

This is a hands-on and varied role and we are seeking a strong people leader to influence and lead the way in ensuring the VEC is applying best practice information management principles in all of our work.

The successful applicant

The successful candidate will have prior experience in developing and implementing contemporary and compliant information management practices, and expert knowledge of and experience in the interpretation and application of a range of legislation including that relating to information privacy and freedom of information.

You will have strong stakeholder management skills, be an excellent communicator who can engage with a range of stakeholders all levels of the organisation, and have demonstrated experience providing advice and support to staff regarding legislative obligations as well as contemporary information management practices and technologies.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and dynamic leader to work across the VEC to drive us forward.

Previous experience leading a team in a compliance critical environment will be highly regarded.
