The Opportunity

Digital Solutions is a value-driven strategic IT partner for the University. Focused on delivering leading digital experiences for our students, colleagues and community. We are seeking a Head of IT Strategy, Architecture and Emerging Tech to join our Digital Solutions, IT Value Management leadership team. Reporting to the IT Director for Value Management, the Head of IT Strategy, Architecture and Emerging Tech is a thought leader who understands and applies existing, new and emerging technologies to transform and optimise the University operating models.


The scope of this position encompasses:

  • Strategic Planning including driving the creation of IT strategies and roadmaps to meet the needs of the University.
  • Creation of processes, policies, standards and guidelines that ensure strategic management and alignment to strategy is embedded in management and operational plans.
  • Maintaining an awareness of the global needs of the University and promoting the benefits of a common approach to information and communications technology deployment.
  • Provision of consultancy and thought leadership across the University including the engagement and management of external experts.
  • Leading Digital Solution’s innovation and investigation of new and emerging technologies to more effectively deliver against University priorities, including building the capability for ongoing innovation.
  • Leading the uplift of the University’s Enterprise Architecture capability including people, process and technology.
  • Shaping, securing buy in and leading significant improvement programs to uplift strategic and architectural capability across Digital Solutions.
  • Management of a small team of high skilled enterprise level architects.


This is a continuing, full time position based at the Nathan campus. Griffith is a multi-campus university and therefore it is understood that this position may be required to work across campuses as required.


About you

As Head of IT Strategy, Architecture and Emerging Tech you will have end-to-end responsibility for the University’s technology strategy and roadmap. You will be data-driven, committed to continuous improvement and adept at translating complex concepts into outcomes driving change for your area.


To be successful within this role, you will be a strong communicator with outstanding relationship skills at Executive level. You will have evidence of a passion for technology driven business improvement and have a strong desire to build a career within a purpose led organisation making tangible positive change to society.


Salary range

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
