👀 Who we're looking for

Common Code's talent service, We Are Common, helps tech start ups to build their teams from the first engineering hire through to scaling the team to 10+ team members.

As a small team of four, we work with clients who have aligned values around creating a better world, creating inclusive workplaces and investing in diverse talent.

Our wonderful Talent Acquisition specialist, Val, is soon to go on maternity leave, so we are looking for someone to cover her role for a 12 month contract. Beyond this period, we're unsure what the future might hold, but there could be opportunity to extend after that (that's our intent, but nothing is written in stone yet).

The role is currently hiring for our biggest talent client across Australia and New Zealand. You'll work closely with the client lead and the client stakeholders to continue to run their hiring process and build their engineering teams. You'll need some previous experience as a talent acquisition specialist and experience recruiting software engineers. You'll be a self starter and great at managing your own time. Excellent communication skills are a must.

The salary range for this contract is $75 - 90k + super.

⌨️ What you'll do day to day

  • Deliver end to end Talent Acquisition services for our clients at We Are Common (WAC) and our company, Common Code
  • Maintain relationships and networking connections with the local tech communities and act as an ambassador for careers at WAC and Common Code
  • Keep our database (Lever) up to date as the source of truth
  • Head hunt for our open roles, identify prospects and build relationships to maintain an active and diverse pipeline

👉 Skills and Experience

  • Previous Talent Acquisition experience in the tech space.
  • Ability to work at pace with high independence and be the go-to expert for all things technical recruiting
  • Experience working in a small team and managing your own time
  • Proven experience and track record with head hunting - this is a big part of the role
  • Experience in using applicant tracking systems (ideally Lever) and experience optimising advertising venues and platforms such as Linkedin recruiter, StackOverflow, GlassDoor, Jora and Indeed
  • Ability to communicate and partner with people at all levels of the business and a team player
