About the Role... 

This role will manage multiyear and City wide infrastructure projects on behalf of the City of Playford, delivering a defined program of Capital Works including road and footpath infrastructure, drainage, parks, sporting facilities and community facilities from concept to finalisation and handover in accordance with agreed cost, time and quality requirements in accordance with Council’s Project Management Framework. 

The key accountabilities of this position are:

  • Project manage allocated Playford Capital Works projects from concept to handover, within legislative and budgetary requirements
  • Procure, engage and supervise engineers, consultants and contractors to deliver allocated sections of the Capital Works Program.
  • Work in conjunction with Playford’s Procurement Team to ensure appropriate procurement strategies are followed in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Oversee the tenders, quotations, procurement, contracts and specifications for services and products in the delivery of the allocated sections of the Capital Works Program.
  • Prepare grant funding documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with the funding requirements for any grant funded project.

About You...

You will be degree qualified and have significant experience in a project management role, ideally in a state or local government infrastructure delivery capacity. Your qualifications will be a Degree in Civil Engineering, Building and Construction, Project Management or a related field.

You will have:

  • Experience in civil infrastructure project management, including scheduling, contract management, reporting, budgeting and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and experience in Work Health and Safety, including supervision of contract staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, deliver results and manage the budget within defined timelines and targets.
  • Demonstrated involvement in the procurement process including development of technical specifications, tender evaluation and negotiation.

Incumbents in this position may be required to possess, or be willing to gain a National Criminal History Clearance or DCSI Clearance.
