We are looking for an Injury Management Advisor to provide injury and illness management to workers by supporting them with medical assessments, return to work, health monitoring and wellbeing programs.

This role is a great opportunity for an Allied Health Professional, a Paramedic, a Registered Nurse or a Health and Safety Professional. who is passionate about health and safety and enjoys working autonomously in a remote location.

Reporting to the Health Specialist; you will be:

  • Conducting assessments and treatments of patients for both work and non-work-related injuries and medical conditions in accordance with ERA protocols and procedures.
  • Coordinating return to work programs and the ERA workers compensation portfolio.
  • Coordinating and / or conducting assessments including pre-employment assessments and health surveillance programs.
  • Reviewing fitness for work assessments for prospective and current employees and contractors.
  • Establishing and maintaining secure and confidential medical records for employees and contractors.
  • Partnering with our medical provider to manage clinical governance of ERA’s medications in accordance with Northern Territory regulations.
  • Managing the housekeeping of the ERA Medical Centre and medical equipment through inspections, servicing, maintenance and ordering consumables.
  • Maintaining compliance with relevant Rio Tinto Health & Safety Standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the ERA Emergency Response Team in emergency situations.
  • Supporting the Health Specialist with hygiene monitoring activities.

What you’ll bring

  • Sound knowledge of fitness for work requirements, worker’s compensation, injury management and return to work programs.
  • An ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have had exposure to health monitoring databases.
  • A manual ‘C’ class drivers licence.

It will be highly desired if you have a tertiary qualification in paramedical science, nursing or related allied health discipline.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Drug & Alcohol Screening Qualification HLTPAT005.
  • Previous experience working in mining, oil & gas or other heavy industry.
  • Qualification or experience with Audiometric assessments.
  • Qualifications or experience with Spirometry assessments.
  • Occupational Hygiene Monitoring experience
  • Experience in SAP or Cority software packages.
