JOB DESCRIPTION

Rombola Family Farms is seeking a passionate and driven Workshop Manager to join our maintenance team in Griffith, NSW.

The Workshop Manager is ultimately responsible for the servicing and maintenance of all farm plant, equipment, and infrastructure across Rombola Family Farms Griffith operation. This position works in close liaison with workshop staff and the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth and timely operation of servicing and ongoing maintenance of farm requirements.

Workshop Manager Key Accountabilities:

  • Works with the general and operations management to co-ordinate the day-to-day activities of in house maintenance personnel, external contractors, and service providers.
  • Works hand in hand with operations and function specific managers to ensure farm operations have the highest possible equipment availability and function.
  • Development and ongoing refinement of preventative and scheduled maintenance programs for all plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Determination of and maintenance of critical spare part target inventory to ensure the business meets its operational objectives.
  • Coordinate competitive tenders, service provider selection & contracting and procurement of spare parts and workshop consumables.
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit, induct, onboard maintenance employees as and when required.
  • Work with Human Resources to develop required training materials & deliver the required training.
  • Works with the general and operations management to formulate a capital expenditure & equipment replacement program.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a plant and equipment workshop / maintenance management capacity
  • Experience in scheduling and implemented large scale preventative and scheduled management programs.
  • Extensive experience with agricultural plant & equipment.
  • Industrial procurement experience and expertise
  • High level of organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Lateral thinking and practical problem solving.
  • People manager, negotiator and all-round good person that will thrive working in a proactive team (must be a team player).
  • Relationship management skills with the ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets.
  • Sound working knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).
  • Strong mechanical, workshop, and knowledge of WH&S requirements.
  • A current driver’s licence and Forklift licence.
