Principal Legal Adviser - Corporate Team
Provide strategic legal advice to support the industry leading and State-significant work of the Victorian Centre for Data Insights as part of a high performing team in the Department of Premier and Cabinet's Office of the General Counsel.

  • Be responsible for providing strategic, risk based legal advice on significant and emerging commercial and legislative legal issues relevant to VCDI
  • Work autonomously within a high performing team at DPC's Office of the General Counsel
  • 2 year fixed term VPS6 opportunity
The Office of the General Counsel provides strategic legal and policy advice to the Premier, DPC Ministers and other DPC branches. The VCDI is a business unit within DPC and has a whole-of-government role in transforming the way the Victorian Government uses data to inform policy making and service design on issues that cut across portfolios and are of whole-of-government significance.
The Office is looking for a hard-working and experienced Principle Legal Advisor and lawyer with strong technical legal and conceptual skills to advise and lead on a variety of commercial and legal issues, including privacy and data protection laws.
