The Position - Allied Health Assistant (Grade 2)

This position will primarily work as part of the Tissue Trauma Stream, in the Lymphoedema clinic. The Lymphoedema team provides specialist multidisciplinary services for people with complex wounds, vascular dysfunction, scars, burns and oedema, including lymphoedema.

Key Responsibilities:
Works directly with a clinician or under supervision following a prescribed program of activities
Demonstrates capacity to work flexibly across therapeutic & program related activities including tasks related to the hydrotherapy pool, equipment maintenance and cleaning duties
Assists with clinical administrative tasks to support the service as delegated

Key Requirements:
Completion of Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistant or its equivalent from a registered RTO, that is relevant to the field of practice
If an Enrolled nurse registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation and Authority (AHPRA) and Nursing and Midwifery Board.

The Team

In addition the Executive Director Integrated Care Services has professional responsibilities as the Chief Allied Health Officer As such the CAHO is focused on leading and supporting the allied health professional workforce to feel valued and empowered to provide exceptional, quality care.

Essential:
01.Completion of Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistant or its equivalent from a registered RTO, that is relevant to the field of practice.

03.Adherence to the Expectations and Guidelines of a Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant at Bendigo Health

Desirable:
04.Competent skills in machine sewing and willingness to learn compression garment construction.

Desirable:
05.Experience as an AHA working in a rehabilitation setting.

Desirable:
06.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of chronic disease management.

Desirable:
07.Understands the role of a team member within a multi-disciplinary program.

Desirable:
08.Highly organised and able to work independently as well as in a team setting.

Desirable:
09.Training in water and/or land-based group exercise administration.

Desirable:
10.Ability to work flexibly across a range of areas with varied tasks.
