Sales Account Executive - Australia

Fastly has already disrupted CDN technology and now we are changing how CDN is sold. Our sales team engages in a consultative selling approach, learns the individual needs of each customer and delivers custom solutions. We focus on creating a positive customer experience in order to build long-standing relationships.

The sales team’s focus is driving revenue, adoption and market penetration in vertically targeted accounts in Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate possesses a technical sales background that enables them to drive an engagement at the CXO, IT architect and software developer levels. You must be experienced at Fastly and be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a remote territory coverage plan, consistently delivering on quarterly revenue targets.

What You'll Do

  • Accountable for driving new business, and meeting or exceeding quota goals and MBO’s.
  • Effectively and independently deliver the Fastly company story, value proposition, and product demonstrations as an integral part to the development and expansion of the new geographic territory
  • Partner with Finance, Legal and Marketing to support Fastly’s expansion into the named geographic location
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive account/territory plan to drive revenue and market share in a defined territory or industry vertical
  • Prepare and lead proposals, quotes, and contracts for the expansion and development of key geographic location
  • Handle account management for closed accounts to seek additional revenue opportunities
  • Accelerate customer adoption and ensure customer happiness
  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts
  • Accelerate customer adoption and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Managing all aspects of the sales cycle including: prospecting, sales campaign/meetings, negotiation close, account management for named geographic location
  • Organize or host customer dinners, meetups, case studies and other marketing actions to increase awareness of Fastly and brand awareness in new named geographic expansion territory
  • Mentor new sellers in named geographic territory on the Fastly values, technology and benefit to our clients and be a positive role model to new employees.
  • Execute on developed account plans and penetrate new accounts, identify and map customer accounts

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of technology (B2B, SaaS preferred) related sales or business development experience
  • Passion for working in a dynamic, collaborative, and purpose driven environment
  • Must have at least 2+ years of experience at Fastly in order to act as a brand embassador to a named geographic location
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and driving partnerships to closure
  • Experience with media streaming technologies and content delivery network services, interactive services, digital rights management (DRM), content management, web analytics, website performance, cloud storage, mobile content delivery or managed web hosting is highly desired
  • BA/BS degree required, major in engineering, computer science, or MIS a plus
  • Ability to travel for training, events, field support at trade shows and other events as needed
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
