THE OPPORTUNITY

As the SQL Database Developer, your role underpins the sustainability and growth of EML, providing SQL development, data mapping, and data migration support when onboarding clients to EML’s proprietary claim management systems.

Your role will work closely with the Head of Product Analysis and Chief Development Architect to gain an in depth understanding of source data and destination systems, ensuring a seamless data migration process.

Your Responsibilities
  • Analyse complex data sets and structures to enable data migration from external systems
  • Write technical import procedures and other required SQL coding.
  • Document migration processes and databases, and perform other documentation as required
  • Liaise with DBA’s to ensure the safe migration of data through analysis of existing database structures and data sets


About You
  • A minimum 5 years’ SQL development experience, specifically for data mapping and migration projects including writing and development of ETL structures and procedures (experience in the insurance/financial industry is advantageous)
  • Experience utilising SSIS to do data migrations from different sources to SQL Server
  • Good understanding of SQL Server database design concepts and ability to understand the underlying data model
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability with attention to accuracy and an excellent eye for detail.
  • The ability to take initiative, work proactively, be innovative and solve problems
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the team and provide excellent customer service
