Coliban Region Water Corporation is based in Bendigo and is one of the largest Victorian regional urban water corporations. Our service area covers 16,550 square kilometres including 49 towns and is at the southern gateway to the Murray-Darling basin – Australia's food bowl. We manage, maintain and operate over 34 reservoirs and water storage basins and provide water and waste services to both urban and rural customers.

About the Role

Coliban Water currently has a need for an experienced Procurement Coordinator to join the Corporate Services department on a part time 24-month Fixed Term contract.

Reporting to the Financial Compliance Manager, this role will principally be responsible for implementing and coordinating procurement frameworks and processes in line with Victorian Government requirements and monitoring procurement compliance to ensure the effective delivery of Coliban Water's procurement functions.

 In order to achieve this, it is expected that this role will:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Victorian Government procurement legislation, frameworks, strategies, policies and procedures and other procurement requirements relevant to Coliban Water.
  • Manage the development, implementation and application of sustainable procurement strategies, technology solutions and other practices;
  • Build procurement capability across Coliban Water;
  • Undertake compliance monitoring and reporting processes as required;
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Help identify business improvements and risk controls; and
  • Contribute to a safe workplace and sustainable environment.

To be successful in this position you will have;

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in procurement and/or qualification in business management or similar and/or five years practical experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Victorian Government procurement requirements.
  • Practical experience integrating Victorian Government procurement requirements into a business and/or experience developing and implementing business processes and improvements.
  • Experience managing and advising on individual procurements of varying sizes in the Victorian public sector, including procurement approach, sourcing, supplier engagement and requirement specification.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs.


The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2017 Band 4 ($86k - $100k) Salary will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
