This is a great opportunity to secure this newly created lead role in TAL within our Investments business. You will have a wealth of knowledge of superannuation and retirement solutions, including the market they operate within as you manage new and existing partnerships with a view to building and developing TAL's retirement proposition in the market.

As our retirement Partnerships Lead, you will work with a suite of stakeholders to ensure appropriate engagement across our businesses and accountability within TAL for delivering retirement solutions to key business partners. You will be working to progress our new proposition and business development pipeline and activity as well as owning the messaging of TAL’s proposition, strategically managing the new business pipeline, market development and tender management.

What will you be responsible for?

Own the messaging of the TAL retirement proposition

  • Deeply understand TAL’s strategy and retirement proposition in the industry

  • Tailoring and showcasing TAL capabilities, proposition and people to different audiences/funds depending on their needs and objectives

  • Leveraging the wider capabilities (incl people) across the business to assist with the representation of our proposition

  • Understanding and feeding back where it is identified that components of our proposition are either insufficient or uncompetitive

  • Working closely with the Marketing team to ensure TAL’s voice is presented in the industry e.g. Conferences, events, publications

Manage the new business pipeline

  • Proactively identify new retirement and investment opportunities in the industry fund and retail/platforms segments

  • Gathering and documenting market intel on an ongoing basis

  • Devising the retirement partnerships strategy for approval by senior leadership team.

  • Owning the development and execution of the engagement plans through working collaboratively with other stakeholders within the team

  • Professionally representing TAL and our proposition as part of the execution of the engagement plan.

  • Providing structured reporting on new opportunities, competitor information and market intel

Market Development

  • Visibility and attendance at appropriate industry events

  • Developing and documenting a structured 12 month calendar of BD activity to be updated on an ongoing basis

  • Expanding our footprint with new contacts, potential clients and all major funds across the industry

  • Understanding market challenges and represent TAL as a market leader in thought leadership and solution development

Tender Management

  • Acting as the Bid Owner on new business tenders; or support another team member as required

  • Taking full accountability for completing the tender response

  • Where required, building a virtual bid team across the TAL business

  • Effectively and efficiently management of the bid team

  • Professional engagement with the potential client and other related external parties

  • Taking ownership for remediating any substandard components of our tender documentation

Solutions leadership

  • Representing key partners throughout the TAL enterprise to identify and leverage broader capabilities across services and product development (including new propositions)

  • Taking a leading role in the development and implementation of initiatives and projects to enhance service delivery for our partners.

  • Looking for continuous improvement in our partners service delivery model.

What are we looking for?

  • Comprehensive knowledge of superannuation and retirement solutions, including the market they operate within

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong strategic and lateral thinker

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong leadership skills

  • At least 5-10 years' experience in superannuation industry experience in constructing solutions for wholesale clients

  • Tertiary qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of current and proposed regulations impacting superannuation and life insurance industry
