Your Opportunity

The Harmful Sexual Behaviours Program and the Integrated Family Support Service (IFSS) are looking for a family and youth practitioner to work across both programs, joining the team in Rosny Park. The Harmful Sexual Behaviours Program works with children and young people up to the age of 17 and their families in collaboration with the Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) to provide the best support for individuals. IFSS is an early intervention program that works with families to promote safety and wellbeing of children through building carers capacity and community connections.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Work with clients and stakeholders to create holistic and strength-based individualised support plan
  • Provide person-centred case management to clients with complex needs and review progression against support plan
  • Provide case coordination, liaise care team meetings and make referrals to other services
  • Work collaboratively with other stakeholders to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant degree with at least 1 years’ experience
  • Alternatively, employee may hold a diploma with substantial experience..
  • Demonstrated professional approach to the role including maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide specialised or complex interventions and manage a caseload of complex client.
  • Has a sound understanding of Mission Australia’s Values and Code of Conduct and applies these in their role when interacting with other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including highly developed administrative skills and the ability to provide support of a complex nature.
  • A positive and person-centred approach with a strong guiding belief about everyone’s capacity to grow within and beyond their current circumstances.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
