About The Role

As a Production Advisor, you will be provided with an environment where you will be empowered and encouraged to lead the identification, valuation, development, prioritisation, and efficient execution of high value projects to assist with the better delivery of QAL’s goals. In this role you will manage a number of stilling ponds, tailings storage and a waste management facility at QAL.

Reporting directly to the Superintendent – Tailings Storage Facilities, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:

  • Ensuring operating and maintenance plans are aligned and promote a strong environment and safety culture in line with QAL values
  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with site health, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures and legislative requirements
  • Setting operational priorities through Daily Operating Instructions, and maintenance priorities through the Weekly Maintenance Plan, to maximise operational efficiency and maintain reliability
  • Providing maximum operability, availability and maintainability at all times
  • Setting, tracking and supporting the delivery of operating, maintenance and capital budgets
  • Developing and executing initiatives to continuously improve efficiency, operations and maintenance strategies, move our facilities to best practice environmental performance and maximise storage capacity
  • Tracking and managing work activity cost effectiveness while ensuring quality targets are met
About You

To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering would be highly regarded
  • Previous tailings experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience working within an operations environment, preferably within heavy industry
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders in order to meet targets
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Commitment to safety, environment, continuous improvement and business targets
