GHD has been involved in dams since the company's birth almost 90 years ago. We have the largest dedicated dams engineering team in Australia and one of the larger teams across the globe. We have more than 100 technical dams’ people in Australia and growing numbers globally, particularly throughout the Americas, United Kingdom, within Asia and New Zealand.

In response to continued growth and exciting project wins, we are now looking for a Senior Dams Engineer (Risk) to join the Dams team. Located in Brisbane, you will work alongside nationally and internationally recognised dam specialists across our interstate and global operations.

This position offers a good variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Providing specialised technical services to clients on a diverse range of dam-related projects including feasibility studies, design and construction support for new build and improvement projects
  • Developing leadership in identifying prospects and delivering projects, which maximise GHD’s involvement through utilisation of multi-disciplinary teams and enhances our client’s experience in working with GHD.
  • Applying technical knowledge, specifically regarding quantitative dam risk assessment, but also in regard to other dams engineering disciplines more generally (eg. Structural dams engineering, geotechnical engineering of dams or spillway hydraulics etc.)
  • Coaching to develop team members
  • Contributing to the overall functioning of the Dams Business Group.

What You Will Bring To The Team
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree qualifications in civil engineering or related discipline as appropriate
  • Demonstrated experience in the dams engineering industry, with demonstrated experience in quantitative dam risk assessment and management is essential
  • Chartered status, e.g. CPEng, RPEQ, RPGeo or equivalent, highly desirable and if not, conscientiously working towards achieving it
  • Typically, at least 5 years post-graduate experience
  • An ability to create strong relationships with clients and team members, working collaboratively to delivery for our clients.
