The Opportunity

The ANZ Business Development Manager – Sports Medicine (Enabling Technology) reports in the Director of Sports Medicine ANZ and is responsible for meeting sales and profitability targets for the assigned Sports Medicine (SPM) range, via the provision of sound business and sales strategy developed in conjunction with the Senior Business Unit Director, Sports Medicine (ANZ).

The Key Focus Areas of the Role

  • Meet sales and profitability targets for the prescribed range responsibility, via the provision of sound business and sales strategy
  • Actively preparing and executing SPM New Product Introductions
  • Market Expansion in Beachhead products
  • Building sales and commercial capabilities within the sales force
  • To strive for excellence and display leadership by:Leading by exampleDisplaying positive habitsShowing high levels of GRITDemonstrating thorough knowledge of products and procedures
  • Drive adoption in assigned beachhead/new product category by leading and supporting opportunities and trials
  • Proactive hunting/account targeting with sales reps, sales managers, and corporate accounts team
  • Conduct regular business reviews driving accountability and success, with both sales and corporate accounts team
  • Monitor monthly results of both sales and gross profit, and modify support/action plans accordingly, and report to the Leadership team
  • Develop/maintain close links with professional bodies relevant to product portfolio
  • Gather market intelligence and report on macro market dynamics, competitive information, key procedural trends, and clinical data that would impact our business and shape commercial planning
The Requirements Of The Successful Candidate
  • Tertiary qualifications in Science and related technical disciplines
  • MBA, desirable
  • 10+ years in marketing and sales within a technical medical device field, ideally within Sports Medicine and/or Capital (preferably Visualization) Products
  • This role requires deep knowledge and understanding of the ANZ SPM Enabling Tech portfolio and procedures, market, plus robust knowledge of the Capital Selling Process (preferably Visualization).
  • Strong abilities to discuss clinical and commercial content at the highest level with the various stakeholders (C-Suites, Orthopaedic surgeon, Societies).
  • Good understanding of ANZ public and private healthcare system
  • Skills in interpretation of financial and clinical data, including market analysis and impact modelling
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrix organization
  • Takes initiative to set and achieve challenging work goals; maintains high work standards at all times
  • 20% to 50% travel within ANZ may be required
