Your new company

Your new role
You will be assisting this area by providing strategic advice to Ministers and the Departments’ senior executives on new programs related to the market competition and new supply in the wholesale electricity market. With your experience and deep understanding of federal government policy and program processes, you will be involved the design and implementation of a new investment program for the industry. The day to day work of the team typically involves high levels of stakeholder engagement, working with experts on technical, commercial, legal and market aspects, and planning and undertaking negotiations. The role will require demonstrated experience in policy development and implementation, research and analysis and an aptitude for interpreting data to inform on policy development and advice. The area works at a fast pace and requires team members to thrive on problem solving tasks and work well both in a team and autonomously.

What you'll need to succeed

Strong written and oral communication skills including demonstrated ability to develop executive and ministerial briefings
Experience in policy development and implementation or program management
High level negotiation and stakeholder management experience
An aptitude for grasping and consolidating technical information involving data sets
Ability to work well in a team, be flexible and thrive on problem solving tasks
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder relation building skills
Experience in energy policy, programs or projects would be highly desired

You must be an Australian citizen and will possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a Baseline personnel security clearance.
