In this role you will:

-Deliver high level, evidence based Psychology clinical services including assessment of at risk offenders, planning, implementation and evaluation of complex offender needs with a high degree of independence, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.

-Undertake complex and varied Psychology duties with clinical decisions based on valid and reliable evidence and infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.

-Provide advanced level clinical and consultancy services to complex offender caseloads, utilising high level independent clinical judgement informed by best practice, in accordance with prescribed professional practice and ethical standards.

-Chair and lead multi-disciplinary meetings that oversee centre decision making regarding suicide risk assessment and management, and case management of prisoners with complex needs, ie. Risk Assessment Team meetings and Prisoner of Concern (PoC) meetings.

-Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced Psychology practitioners to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards within the designated area of clinical practice, and ensure staff are supported to maintain registration requirements and internship plans.

-Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise by engaging in, initiating and facilitating professional development activities including clinical psychological education within the centre's Psychology team and to relevant stakeholders.

-Lead and collaborate on the development of evidence-based clinical practices and protocols within the centre's psychology team in accordance with QCS policies and procedures.

-Actively maintain professional development for your own professional standards and also enhance the skills and knowledge of the psychology team through training and education and policy and guideline development.

-Maintain own registration and accreditation for professional specific requirements including Board Supervision.

Collaborate with psychology and multidisciplinary team members, as well as operational managers and staff to ensure effective service delivery and quality outcomes. Consult regularly with relevant stakeholders.

-Coordinate the process of referral, crisis management, assessment, reviews and transition planning within a case management framework. Oversee the effective utilisation of the computerised Integrated Offender Management System (IOMS) designed to improve continuity of case management and monitor outcomes.

-Advocate and influence critical issues of psychology professional development to advance models of care and clinical service impact.

-Work collaboratively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team be effectively integrating the Psychology perspective with other discipline and operational perspectives to affect optimal outcomes for prisoners.

-Oversee the intervention, management and counselling of offenders and support their re-integration into the community.

-Develop productive relationships with service providers and the community generally to enhance the community's regard for offender programs

Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements

- Possession of bachelor's degree (4 year) in psychology or behavioural science.

- General registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency is mandatory.
