The Exciting Opportunity:

Our client is looking for a talented and experienced Senior RN OR Experienced Clinical Nurse to step up into the role of Clinical Care Coordinator in the Adelaide Metro / Eastern Suburbs area. We are looking for passionate and talented AHPRA Registered Nurse who loves working in aged care looking after the elderly.

As a clinical team leader, you will be reporting into the Clinical Care Manager and you will be responsible for coordinating clinical care for residents, supervise nursing and care staff to ensure an effective, efficient and functioning team. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be required to lead and manage the clinical and allied health services under the direction and support of the Clinical Care Manager

On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the clinical team along side the Clinical Care Manager as Clinical Nurse in Charge
  • Mentor, coach and develop your clinical team and carers to the next level to deliver clinical excellence
  • Ensure that all clinical care whilst on your shift is being delivered in line with Aged Care Accreditation Standards
  • Drive ACFI funding
  • Perform competency assessments for your staff
  • Have input into training of staff and identify skill gaps
  • Provide high quality, safe and effective nursing care that aligns with the individual residents' preferences in line with the individuals care plans
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care
  • Contribute to the allocation of workload to ensure quality care is received by all residents
  • Anticipate residents' changing health needs and manage requirements appropriately
  • Deal with any crisis situations during night shift and alert relevant services and families
  • Support residents and their families by responding to queries and feedback in liaison with the Clinical Care Manager
  • Attending to wound care and deliver training
  • Ensure safe administration of medication at all times
  • Maintaining clinical documentation to a high standard in a timely manner including ACFI information

The Successful Candidate:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Must have experience as Senior RN in Charge or Clinical Nurse to lead a team
  • Experience in residential aged care and a good understanding of accreditation standards
  • Full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance
  • Passionate about taking care of residents in their twilight years
  • Highly organised, work well under pressure and have strong planning skills
  • Able to identify clinical risk in the aged care setting
  • Flexible in responding to changing resident needs
  • Experience in dementia management is desirable but not essential
