JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this role is to assist ANZ in becoming the fastest and safest mover of funds both domestically and globally. This role ensures that ANZ customers spanning across all segments are provided with a quality, consistent and efficient payment experience, even when manual intervention is required.
The role is responsible for managing a large team of Payment Specialists who are tasked with the successful and timely processing of electronic Inward and Outward Australian Domestic, Real-time Gross Settlement (RTGS), cross-border and clearing services Payments that fall into an exception handling queue. As well as this, the role has responsibility for the management of the operational side of International Paper Clearing.
Responsibilities include:

  • Provide guidance and support to various projects and initiatives aiming to achieve operational efficiencies
  • Generate and implement process improvements to improve customer service and team efficiency, ultimately reducing cost
  • Demonstrate an expert level of knowledge in the Australian Payments landscape, ANZ Payment systems and Payment related Australian and Industry regulations and standards
  • Demonstrate an understanding of AOM principles
  • Lead and empower a team towards progress and living by ANZ values, building a culture which results in low attrition
  • Ensure team are adequately trained and resourced to deliver to customer and business expectations
  • Maintain quality of delivery of process
  • Management of existing risks within the business and prompt action of Core incidents to remediation
  • Handle escalations with the aim to resolve with customer satisfaction
  • Assist the Senior Manager in achieving their responsibilities
The Manager role requires the ability to build relationships and networks, problem solving and analysis as well as an ability to make fast and effective decisions when under pressure.
