  • Assist stewards in the regulatory oversight of all race meetings.
  • Interact with a diverse range of key stakeholders, licensed and registered participants.
About you

As the successful candidate, you must possess the following:
  • A passion for ensuring the welfare of our participants, equine athletes and upholding integrity through the rules of racing.
  • A willingness to develop skills, knowledge and capabilities, specifically around racing analytics, evidence, quasi-judicial processes, regulatory environments and specific rules of racing.
  • Knowledge of the thoroughbred horse racing industry.
  • Knowledge of the thoroughbred horse, with particular emphasis on equine welfare, with horse handling and husbandry skills.
  • The ability to engage in respectful conversations with a range of industry participants, on a variety of matters pertaining to the rules of racing and integrity of our sport.
  • An ability to be articulate in both written and verbal communications, and with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with sound judgement.
  • Ability to engage with personal courage.
  • A natural curiosity, pragmatism and strong commitment to upholding the principles of natural justice.
  • The ability to work in a role which requires flexibility in hours, travel and at multiple workplaces across Victoria.
What can we offer you?
  • The opportunity to join an industry leading and iconic sports organisation;
  • Remuneration and benefits associated with an employer of choice, including wellbeing leave, learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and employee assistance programs, on-site gym, subsidised café, and free car parking;
  • A culture which is diverse and inclusive, high on social capital and values excellence, safety & wellbeing, honesty and engagement.
  • Dynamic and varied work.
